We are pleased to announce that our very own Chris Joannou (Executive Assistant & Company Stage Manager) has been offered a place to train at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) - one of the world's leading Drama Schools.
After receiving a phone call from the Director of Technical Training, Chris had impressed tutors at RADA so much that they couldn't wait to offer him a place for their Technical Theatre and Stage Management course.
RADA receives a huge amount of applications, but can only select a limited amount of students. It is amazing that Chris was able to secure a place here and we couldn't be prouder.
Chris started off his journey as a Platinum Student from the age of 11. After being unsuccessful in one of our pantomime auditions, Chris was then asked to help out by shadowing Director, Nina Lewis-Hart. By doing this, Chris was able to assist in the behind-the-scenes development of the production and soon found a passion for Technical Theatre and Stage Management.
As Chris enters the final months in his A Level studies at the Elstree UTC (a specialist behind-the-scenes college governed by Elstree Studios) the offer at RADA will give him the opportunity to continue training at a Degree Level.
Chris had many interviews at various other Universities and Drama Schools that offer the Technical Theatre course, but RADA was his first choice and he couldn't be happier.
Chris has accepted the offer at RADA and looks forward to training there in September.
Chris will continue to work with us and support the development and success of all Platinum Performing Arts productions.
