NINA LEWIS
Director
Fitness &Productions

Whether as a teacher, fund-raiser, producer/performer or working with adults and Children Nina is resolute in her efforts to help others feel good about themselves and to encourage them to follow their dreams, as she has followed hers.

She has raised funds for numerous charities, organised various events and produced and choreographed dance and fashion shows.
Nina’s passion for dance has influenced her classes. She has successfully incorporated Latin show dancing, Salsa, Cuban, Meringue, Samba, Soca and not forgetting to mention, belly dancing into her fun feel good sessions.

She has proved to be a very popular instructor and teacher and over the years she has built up a following of dedicated participants. She has worked with many well-known celebrities and their families. She teaches regularly in all the Enfield leisure centres, colleges, schools and at conventions and has
delivered master classes in Europe.

Nina has also been working in the local community alongside the N.H.S, running well-being programmes to build confidence and Self-esteem and to introduce a healthier life style to the members of the group and their families.


She has over 15 scrolls to her name ranging all over the dance and fitness and education sector .
Nina is also qualified to teach children different formats of exercise including Junior Yoga and Junior Combat.

 

Nina Has City and Guilds certificates for learning support, teaching students with learning difficulties, Confidence building and life skills.
She is a true leader and makes others dreams as well as her own come to life.

NIKKI WRIGHT
Head of Drama
 

 

Nikki trained at the Italia Conti Stage School, and from there went into Weekly Rep as an actress /ASM where she feels her real training began! Early in her career she worked as a dancer, choreographer, assistant director and primarily as a straight actress. She has been working for over 30 years in all areas of television, film theatre, commercials and radio, including several years in The Archers for the BBC. she also recently co-produced her first feature film.

Inher early years she was a founder member of Kenneth Branagh's Rennaisance company, and over the years has had a diversity of roles, from Wendy in Peter Pan to Emelia in Othello, and from BBC period drama to over 150 episodes of a sci-fi soap !! By joining Platinum she hopes to introduce the pupils to all areas acting and to stretch their capabilities, work together and help them build in confidence to use their skills in their everyday lives.

Nikki also teaches drama at two other schools lives locally with her husband and two children.

DENISE ORITA
Drama/Vocal coach
 



Denise has been working as a Professional Actress and Singer for the last twenty five years. Trained at St Catherine’s Drama Studio in Guildford, Surrey. Graduating in 1983. Denise has worked extensively in Theatre , Television and Film. Her Theatre Credits include , The Bacchae for The National Theatre of Scotland , which opened the Edinburgh Festival and played to packed houses in Edinburgh and at London’s Lyric theatre in Hammersmith. Basil and Beattie at the Royal Exchange , Manchester, Stepping Out, Arts Depot and to Kill a Mockingbird for Theatre Clwyd; The Beatification of Area Boy at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and World tour. The Buddy Holly story in Hamburg, Germany, for which she was nominated for an Image Award as Best Supporting Actress; The Amen Corner at Bristol Old Vic. West End credits include 70 Girls 70 at the Vaudeville and The Cotton Club at the Aldwych Theatre.

Film Credits include: The very successful British comedy film, Son of Rambow, the short film One Day, starring Tim McInnery and Toby Stephens; and Mike Leigh’s Secrets and Lies.

Television appearances include Kavanagh QC, Bob Martin , Eastenders and Crime Limited.

Since her album ‘A Jazzy Christmas’ was released in 2004, Denise has performed sell-out concerts in Germany with her Jazz quartet.

Denise has also directed and consulted on several plays for Entity Theatre company which are based in Munich Germany.

Denise is also part of a Gospel Duo with Alexander Fischer , performing Gospel Concerts in South Germany. Denise has also sang with several other Gospel choirs in Germany.
 
Tania Chrysanthou
Head of
Commercial Dance

 

Tania has been dancing since the age of 3, she studied ballet, tap, modern, singing and drama. She performed as a young child in many dance shows and pantomimes and at the age of 16 attended the North London Dance Studio where she began her training as a professional dancer. Once she graduated she worked in various jobs from caberts to commercial work and even modeling, some of her credits include:
Robbie Williams, Blazing Squad, Blue, Charli, Red Bull, Levis, Vodaphone, Alfie (film), Spanish hair shows and Ellements entertainment company.

More recently Tania has been concentrating on breaking through as a choreographer. She works at a dance college where she is training professional students and has just taken part at the 2010 “move it” exhibition where she held a sold out class and assisted on a piece that took to the stage.

Tania is really pleased to have joined the team at platinum and hopes her experiences and creative skills will help the children to develop their dancing even further she feels very welcome and part of the family already.
 

MIA CHARI
Head of I.S.T.D Ballet
and Tap

Mia Chari has been involved in the music and performing industry for over 12 years and has gained vast experience from singing, dancing, acting modeling, presenting choreographing and performance training around the UK.

Mia has appeared in London musicals, TV commercials for U.K, Europe, and worldwide. She has been involved and part of a couple girl bands and supported successful acts on tour such as, Blue, Faith Evans, Misteeq, Liberty X, So solid crew, but to name but a few.

As well as being passionate about performing, she has a great love for choreographing and co-ordinating shows and events, for children, young adults, students and professional artist.

She is a qualified teacher of dance in Ballet, Tap, Modern, and excels in teaching contemporary, street, hip, hop and cultural dance.

Mia is always hungry to working with hard working determined people who love to perform.

She has choreographed for big festivals, show productions such as Hercules the musical, Nightmare before Christmas, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wiz, various pantomimes, and variety showcases for signed and unsigned acts. She has also choreographed for up and coming Girl group Candy Rock who have been supporting Chip Monk on tour.

Mia also currently teaches in State schools and performing arts schools across London, teaching dance drama and gym to children from the ages of 3 up to 17.

She runs her own dance school in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire where she trains students into taking examinations in Ballet Tap and Modern. She is also very happy to be nominated as head of Ballet, tap and modern for Platinum Performing Arts School based in North London.

Mia aspires to reaching lots of goals in the teaching, choreographing, and performing roll.



Gregory Kayden Okereafor
Choreographer



20 year old dancer and choreographer originally from Nigeria, travelled aboard to the UK in 1993, to pursue afurther academic education. By the age of 16 ‘Kayden’ gave up an ambition of becoming a professional footballer due to a life changing injury and soon came toterms that he had a callingfor dance. With this interest came a great determination to learn and perfect the style of HipHop and later on in 2009 an interest for other styles such as Ballet and Contemporary. He is currently acquiring a National Diploma in Performing Arts which is due to end in June 2010, and later has the goal to receive a place at the Urdang Academy. Through hard work and dedication, Kayden now successfully runs adancecompany called'Persuasive' which has featured on ITV news, with a program that focuses onhelping youngkids torealise their own potential andambitions, at the same time keeping them from worst choices madeby the influences ofthe streets. Kayden has featured with his company in many shows and competitions around the UK such as, Live Vibe, Jump Off, Dance Challenge, the Afro BeautyFashion shows and has also worked with Music Artists in the production of Music Videos. Working on his second year at platinum, Kayden has shown a great deal of talent and professionalism when working with the kids and producing great dance pieces.


David Devyne Choreographer

David Devyne a 20 year old choreographer for Platinum House Performing Arts. He has been dancing and choreographing for over 3 years.

David co-founded a group called MXT Entertainments and participated in various shows such as Live Vibe in Saddlers Wells and competed in "DANCE CHALLENGE”. From the success of the group, this has lead him to take part in different work shops in schools and colleges around North London.

Shortly after this, Persuasive Dance Group was formed and together they have been very successful. They have performed in theatres, occasional events, festivals, music videos, competitions, attended auditions and are also featured in the international dance movie called “STREET DANCE 3D”.

As a free lance dancer David has worked and choreographed for upcoming arties such as Teeze who is currently signed to Sony Recored lableand levell, in the summer of 2010 David opened up for Mario's concert as a back up dancer for Teeze and performed at different events, also featured in his Video "Hello Hi" also D, Darks "ONE". He will feature in videos and working with new Arties in the following year.

He currently trains with Boy Blue Entertainments and is working hard to get into their dance company. He is also a member of a dance group called New Movement which is based in East London. His style of dancing is inspired from the New Style Hip Hop (street dance) and other aspects of his style vary with popping, locking, kurmping, commercial and house. Dance is a passion that he wants to pursue as a professional career. David aims to be the best so giving the best is what he is going to give in everything that he does.
 



Nathan 'Ready' Mafwa

Was born in D.R.Congo, 1988 and in 2002 at the age of 14, he travelled over to the UK with his family and since then he has been pursuing a career in dance. In 2004, Nathan joined his school dance group called Holloway Boyz, with them he developed a skill and passion for dance and soon became well known in the dance industry as ‘Ready’. Performing three years in a row at Breakin’ Convention, and also staring in the Mathew Bourn’s Swan Lake, Nathan was already achieving what most only dreamed of. He currently professionally dances with ‘Persuasive’ dance crew performing in such prestigious dance shows and competitions such as; Set4Set, Dance Challenge, true colours and also Impacts Dace’s very own Live-Vibe. On his first production with Platinum Performing Arts, Nathan has already shown great skill, determination and professionalism on and off the stage, choreographing dance, and also producing the music for this production.
